Sheldon Halstead (Fly By Design)

Special guest

Sheldon Halstead is the founder and owner of one of the GTA's most popular custom clothing, graphic design and clothing line companies known as Fly By Design. Fly By Design made headlines when both the Huffington Post and the NBA reached out to him when he released Playoff graphics during the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Fly By Design would hit another milestone when he released the "Canada has been great" hat line, a play on Donald Trump's "Make America great again" hats which caught the eye of the 6dad himself, Norm Kelly who rocked his gear on IG.

Born in Mississauga but later moving to Malton, Sheldon was a business man from a young age where he would bring a clip board to school to take gear orders from his friends and using a Chinese supplier for gear ranging from Roca Wear gear to snap back fitted. From there, he started a custom clothing business in his basement from the ground up where he taught himself Photoshop and illustrator. Sheldon is a huge advocate on being self-taught as he dropped out of his child and youth worker program in year 2 of 3 to pursue his passions full time.

Having worked multiple factory jobs to make ends meet to eventually working with a clothing company in Kensington Market, Sheldon desired to have his own store and be his own boss. It was then when he decided to go all in and purchase a spot at Westwood Square (formerly Westwood Mall) in Malton where it all started. Since launch day, Fly By Design has continued to reach milestone after milestone and show youth that it is possible to turn your dreams into reality. Today Sheldon's biggest inspiration is his son Elijah who is the catalyst of his motivation to grind daily.

Among many other experiences/skills, Sheldon is an entrepreneur, a proud father, a graphic designer, a custom clothing line designer, a tattoo artist, a creator, and was a coach with the Malton Mavericks Basketball Team.
